buttercream blanketPosted by bekkah (Pennsylvania, United States) on 4 November 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. I'm not sure what type of tree these fell from, but they looked less like leaves and more like petals from a flower. They created a beautiful buttercream blanket over the grass and sidewalk :)

k@ from Paris, FranceYour title adds poetry to... poetry ! That's my guess. 4 Nov 2009 6:22pm @Viewfinder: Thank you!! Excellent guess :) john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesYou're right. Like petals from a flower. Truly lovely. 4 Nov 2009 6:34pm Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesA simple, yet very effective, composition. Love the detail seen in the leaves and their golden color. VF is right. They are leaves from a gingko biloba tree. I have a gingko tree and it's amazing how just about every year all the leaves fall from the tree within an hour's time creating the blanket you speak of, particularly when there is no wind. The only drawback is the smell of the fruit once it has fallen from the tree and starts to rot. 4 Nov 2009 6:47pm @Steven: Thank you! I didn't noticed any fallen fruit...I'll be sure to keep my distance when I do :) Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesBeautiful ginkgo leaves. This makes a great fall composition. 4 Nov 2009 9:30pm Dawn from Maryland, United StatesLove the title you chose for this image. Beautiful blanket of fall leaves.
