the best things

They say the best things come in 'little blue boxes', but I beg to differ...there's no way my new speedlight would fit in one of those. Good thing my husband knows to spoil me with big gold and black boxes instead! ;)

I've been enjoying playing around with my new toy :)

Congratulations. If you have a camera that has Commander mode, be sure to get the flash off of the camera.

@john4jack: Thanks for the tip! To be honest, I haven't even cracked open the manual yet, but I'm looking forward to it :)

A fine shot of your new addition to your camera collection! Flash can be used so many ways. Nice to share with us.

Wonderful story to go along with a new toy! I love the color of the blue box up against the dark color of the flash.

Neat shot. I love the close up of the red sensor unit. If you have a chance, try it again while getting the sensor unit to flicker. Not familiar with Nikon stuff (hell, I'm still learning the Canon stuff after years of trying!) so no idea how to set it off.
Nikon is a girl's best friend.... ;-D

@John: that's an interesting assignment, I'll have to look into it :) Nothing says "I love you" like a brandy new wide angle lens (if you're out there honey...hint, hint!!!!!!)!!

Thank you!!! I still have to figure out all the settings on it, but it's made indoor shots SO much easier already. I was getting so much blur before, I assumed it was my lack of ability (which still might have something to do with it!!), but it's looking like it was more so due to the lack of LIGHT :)
